The archipelagic and island states, which will be most affected by climate change and any participating states are mostly least-developed countries, must be able to benefit from the growing trend of sustainable blue economy.

These implies giving the support needed for archipelagic and island states to optimise and unlock tapping new sources and innovative financing on scaling up blue finance, including new blue innovative instruments such as blue bond, debt-for-ocean swap, and natural capital insurance; as well as to access and utilize technologies. It is also important to ensure that archipelagic and island states can utilize and access technology development as another enabling environment crucial to unlock the vast potential of the blue economy.

Realising these visions require extraordinary levels of collaboration by all stakeholders. The AIS Blue Economy High-Level Dialogue brings together world leaders, experts, thoughts and business leaders to forge a new era of sustainable blue growth and strengthen collaboration for a more reliable and accessible blue financing to accelerate the implementation of the world’s blue economy.
